Source: Crawfordsville Journal, Wednesday, March 21, 1917 - thanks to Kim Hancock for this one :)

America Elizabeth Servies, daughter of William T. and Nancy C. Servies, was born September 27, 1862, and departed this life, March 16, 1917, aged fifty-four years, five months and nineteen days. She was united in marriage to John B. White October 13, 1880, and to this union were born six children, namely, Ethel, Nannie, Kate, Elmer, Byron, and Sherman, five of whom with the father, have preceded the mother in dearth, leaving one daughter, Mrs. Katherine Vancleave, two granddaughters, Odessa and Elizabeth Douglas, an aged mother, Mrs. Nancy C. Servies, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Martin, and Mrs. Albert Seaman, two brothers, Harney and John Servies, the latter of Oregon City, Oregon, besides a host of friends. She was converted and united with the Methodist Episcopal Church at this place during the winter of 1887, under the pastorate of Rev. L.S. Buckles. The deceased was an active worker in all things good. Her foremost thought was of the church and her family and in every way a faithful follower of her Master until the last, doing his bidding in all things characteristic to a true Christian life. She was a patient sufferer during her last illness and at all times trusted in her Savior and believed all for the best. Altho her sufferings were, intense her fellow sufferers were not forgotten, as only a few days past she sent flowers to a friend. This marks the close of a beautiful life, not soon to be forgotten but which will ever remain in the minds of those dear to her a tender memory.
